Sexual Harassment

Posted 7 months ago

Sexual harassment in the workplace remains a serious and deeply concerning issue that affects individuals and businesses across all industries. Everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect at work. However, dealing with reports about sexual harassment is not enough and businesses need to take steps to prevent it from occurring in the first place.  Recent legislation changes stipulate that employers now have a duty to anticipate when sexual harassment may occur and take reasonable steps to prevent it. If sexual harassment has taken place, an employer should take action to stop it from happening again.  Atoll HR recommend the following guidelines:

  • Embed a culture of respect
  • Create clear policies
  • Build trust in the reporting process
  • Deliver regular training starting at the induction programme
  • Support affected employees
